Mississippi’s CSR (Community Supported Records) club has been part of our ramshackle operation since our first days. Supporters contribute regularly to the label and get all of our releases shipped to them at a discount, often before they’re officially released, plus special non-internet releases, CSR gifts, and other weird projects as they come about.
When you support the CSR, you contribute directly to the label - your money goes straight into pressing costs and paying artists and their families.
The CSR is the heart of the label—it allows us to take risks, keep costs low, and pay artists up front. Your trust and support keep this operation going.
HOW IT WORKS:

You can sign up for a friend if you´d like to GIFT A SUBSCRIPTION (just add their mailing address (and a gift note) and your billing address)
Mississippi + Friends CSR All of the above, plus Cairo, special titles that don't even have a label, and some non-internet stuff (basically everything that comes from the larger network of us and our comrades, 15-20 records/yr). The closest thing to walking into the Mississippi shop in Portland and getting loaded up with all the latest.
$105/quarter or $400 annually
Mississippi Records CSR
Get all official Mississippi titles (8-10 releases/year) as they’re released and at a discount. Your quarterly contribution includes shipping, handling, and at least one special CSR project. Minimum 4 shipments a year, but often more.
$60/quarter or $230 annually (save up to $80 on ordering the releases individually!)
What is Community Supported Records?
We learned this program from the farmers and anarchists in our lives. We emphasize the “community” part of the name. When you join the CSR, you take a small stake in the label, and we go up and down together. Knowing there’s a base of supporters who trust our work allows us to continue to take risks and keep prices low. Joining the CSR is the best way to make sure the label keeps going and you don’t miss our releases (some of which sell out within weeks). We recognize the immense faith CSR supporters put into the label, and we love you for it.
How does it work?
We offer two quarterly membership levels. Your account will automatically be charged each quarter, and your records will ship as soon as they arrive from the plant (we try to ship at least two records at once to save on shipping). This means we spend less time tallying up balances and running the CSR, and more time making things.
While it’s a big improvement over our old methods, THE CSR IS STILL NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART!!! We’re not a regular label with a hardcore release schedule and a team of production managers. Sometimes the records come fast and furious, sometimes there’s a dry spell. So some quarters you’ll get a bunch of stuff, and others might be leaner. We’ll make sure that ultimately your account balances out and you get what you’ve paid for and more, but you have to be along for the ride! If all that ambiguity makes you queasy, no hard feelings. Please continue to order the titles you like from the site. But if you like the idea of supporting the label directly, read on!!!!
When/Where do we get our records?
Records are shipped to you directly at the address you provide. In some cases, we can offer pickup at the Mississippi shop, but please be in touch about that before signing up.
What can we expect in our shipments / how many shipments do we get?
The number of shipments per quarter varies because you get our records as soon as they arrive from the pressing plant. You receive at least 4 shipments over the course of the year. Every year, we guarantee at least one project made specifically for the CSR and not available anywhere else. We aim to ship your records before any others go out (though sometimes we hold things and ship a couple at a time to save on postage).
What are my payment options?
Credit card / PayPal via our website, charged quarterly or annually (further discount for annual memberships). If you have issues with our listed payment methods, please reach out to us at info@mississippirecords.net and we can help with that.
Can I add/subtract things from my shipment?
No! We send you our records directly as they come out. We aim to keep prices low enough and quality high enough that it’s worth the gamble. If you REALLY hate something, please get in touch and we can figure something out. But in general, the CSR only works when everyone gets the same shipment.
Can I cancel my membership?
Yes!. We hope you enjoy the CSR, but if you have to drop out for any reason get in touch with us and we’ll pro-rate what you still have in your account.
Can I gift a membership to someone else?
Yes! When you sign up, add the lucky person´s shipping address instead of yours and then cancel when you want to cycle to end.
Can people outside the US join the CSR?
Unfortunately, due to massive shipping costs, we can only provide the CSR to folks in the US at this time. That said, it's a dream to be able to provide this program more widely. If you're interested, please drop us a note and we can learn more.
