Hope you are hanging in there okay. It’s been a busy time over here at Mississippi Records. New projects in the works, hawking wares on the internet where we can, and scheming and dreaming. Despair knocks on our door everyday, but we are not answering!. Keeping busy helps.
This week’s newsletter has 3 articles - advice from our favorite artist Lonnie Holley, a brief history of the mysterious Kostis of Greece, and some nostalgia about the Portland Museum Of Modern Art. We lost Matt Loomis, Andrew from Dead Moon’s brother, this week to cancer. He was rock n roll to the bone just like Andrew. A true character! He will be missed and our love goes out to the Loomis family.
Also sending love to all the Postal Workers out there. The Trump administration is trying to use this pandemic as an excuse to destroy them - so please make an effort to stand by your local post office.
Stay strong out there. If Mississippi Records can do anything for you, don’t hesitate to reach out. It’s like Andrew Loomis said - “There are silver ships and there are golden ships, but the greatest ships of all are friendships.”
Someday we’ll be dignified and old, together.

Mississippi Records is still buying record collections in Portland!
We are being selective, but our retail store is buying record collections during this pandemic. You can expect to receive 60% of the retail value of your records, but - keep in mind that's based on our retail shops usual cheap prices, not inflated internet prices. We are only buying in the Portland area and can do pickups. Happy to help you out with cash in this tough time - but please bare in mind we are bing selective on what we buy.

Mississippi Home Stereo (Retail and Repair)
Mississippi's home stereo shop is now operational though in a smaller capacity. we can still provide affordable stereo equipment and full systems, basic replacement parts (needles, belts, etc.), and tech support by direct communication. We are maintaining limited hours at the shop on Wednesday and Sunday from 1-5pm for pick up/drop off only, and are available by email most any time. Please don't hesitate to reach out for technical support, trouble shooting, or equipment questions. Music is life essential!, we're here to help you stay in tune and vitalized by supporting your ability to experience it.
